Where to eat and drink
Bath is a foodie hot spot. There’s a plethora of Italian restaunts like Martini, La Terra, or Antica, a family-owned Greek restaurant called Jars Meze, lots of great Indian restaurants like Mantra or the fine-dining Mint Room, and Bath’s Michelin Star tasting menu at The Olive Tree. Locally, you’ll find pubs like the Hope & Anchor in Midford, or the Wheelwrights Arms in Monkton Combe – a little further and you’ll find the gorgeous Packhorse pub. We would also recommend Bath’s tapas bars, particularly Olé and Pintxo. You can also find a Turkish restaurant called Cappadocia near Pulteney Bridge. For Afternoon Tea, one of Bath’s highlights, look out for Regency Tea Room at the Jane Austen Centre, or the famous Sally Lunn’s.
For drinks, wine lovers can discover Beckford Bottle Shop for wines and light bites, Corkage Bath for the serious oenophile, or Novel Wines for something a bit different. Cocktail lovers are swamped with choice, but The Dark Horse, Bath Gin’s Canary Bar, and The Drawing Rooms are probably three of the best. However, don’t forget Bath’s mix of pubs, of which there are many!
